Thanks for taking time to check out my amateuradio hobby web site.

I have been a ham since 1987 and I am still active.

For the most part I am active in the Shortwave bands, and my favorite mode is CW (Telegraphy).

I am generally active at the 18MHz band, this is my favourite frequency because of the low noise level and it's not so overcrowded.

In addition I am interested in the packet radio systems that have many different modes, it's fun and a instructive way to learn about the modern digital communication.

In these days I am learning about satellite communication.
I just finish my new satellite ground station, and have already have contacts with some of the Low Earth Orbit satellites.

I am using the Primesat controller that I order from Primetec in Portugal
This unit also correct the frequency compensation due to Doppler Effect.

The system is fully automatic, with the Windows-based satellite tracking software Nova for Windows.

It is connected to the IC-910H satellite transceiver, and the Yaesu 5500 rotator via the Pc - usb ports.

The primesat-controller controls the azimuth and elevation to the antennas automatic when the satellites coming up and going down.

Antennas for satellite communication:

2m band (10.5 dBD) and 70cm  band (12.8 dBD) is X-Quads.
The antenna in the middle is a Helix for the 23 cm band,  (13 dBD). Polarization is right-circular on the all antennas.

When radio amateurs world wide have contact with each other, they like to talk about the radio communication technology. But in addition the weather conditions around is an other important theme that we often come in to.

Take a look at my home grown weather hobby, click here to monitor the weather condition on my site.
